Mr Leach is a consultant neurosurgeon and sub-speciality lead for spinal neurosurgery in Manchester, working in the NHS at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust – the UK’s busiest spinal neurosurgery centre and widely regarded as one of the top Trusts in the country.

Mr Leach’s spinal interests include:

  • Minimally invasive spinal surgery
  • Navigated spinal surgery
  • Cervical disc replacement
  • Improved intra-operative monitoring

Mr Leach is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Salford University and has been chairman of international teaching courses on navigated spinal surgery and complex cervical spine surgery.

Mr Leach has a keen interest in head and spine injuries in elite sportspersons and is a founding member of The Concussion Clinic at M.I.H.P (Manchester Institute of Health & Performance

Mr Leach was trained in medicine at Cambridge and Oxford gaining an M.A. in Neurophysiology as well as a medical degree.

Neurosurgical training was in Oxford, UK and Melbourne, Australia.

Since 2009 Mr Leach has been a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust with special interests in Spinal Surgery and Neuro-oncology.
